One Proud Bavarian : First!
Edit: This just in: the +4 in the game screenshot regarding Austria damaging relationships with france is, in the new version, +40! So indeed just some day-to-day numbers tweaking!
Brian Sebor : I’m sure they’ll cover someyhing like this at a later date, but I’d love Containment Causus Bellis to actually do something. What if the game could keep track of what you take that’s beyond your infamy limit and a containment war can force you to give up everything they think you took unjustly. If they fail at that and your infamy is insanely high, then you should become an international pariah.

It’s just too easy to conquer whatever you want once you’re strong enough to fight off any containment and I hope they make it harder.
Herkles : The Trucial States were a number of Shiekdoms that signed protectorates with the British government in 1820. The british would sign a number of treaties with them throughout the victorian period. They would become the modern country of the United Arab Emirates after the British gave them indepedence.
Bryce : The Rhine basin region reminds me of an interesting story from just after WWI. In 1923, the French occupied the Rhur as punishment for the Germans failing to make their reparations payments- to fix the hyperinflation the Weimar Reichsbank changed the currency to the "Rentenmark," but was not going to distribute it within the Rhur at first. Konrad Adenauer, who would go onto be the first Bundeskanzler of West Germany but was at the time the mayor of Cologne, knew that if the currency was not distributed to the striking workers in the Rhur, it would be absolutely disastrous. As such, he actually contacted Allied comissioner Paul Tirard, and asked if the French would invade the Rhineland and declare it an independent republic. Had the British not come up with another plan for repayment, it wouldn't have been outside the realm of possibility.

So, there you go, Konrad Adenauer was almost the leader of an independent Rhineland in 1923.
NoEndingInSight : They recently changed it in Stallaris so that your relations will gate certain actions. It was in the most recent expansion. Envoys can now improve or worsen relations so it's pretty easy to setup what you want to do unless there are other major factors modifying relations.

One Proud Bavarian : Make sure to listen to my remarks related to other options that languages should unlock (in my opinion)! It starts at 17:42!
Your feedback would be awesome to hear!
Tyrakodyrg : I'm not sure if it was mentioned, but learning languages should depend on their relativity - for example it should be easier to learn one slavic language, when you know another, the same with germanic, romance/latin etc.
Alexander Olofsson : I think it would be cool if there was prestige to knowing certain languages in certain realms. Like if you didn't know French in Norman England you would be looked down upon, or if you didn't know Persian in the middle east.
Heitor Hedler : Loved this DD - The Royal Court is really promising!
Cameron Alexander Booth : This is a really cool feature. There should be a diplomatic language feature. Like Latin in the West and Greek in the Middle East. Maybe a diplomatic language is a little easier to learn

Alexey Latushkin : I like how they made economy score scale with GDP rather than just number of craftsmen. In most of my campaigns, Russia would score very high because of it's massive population but it's actual production capabilities are rather low because of backward tech and lack of clerks. It also makes encouraging qualified workers more meaningful, since their actual contribution to GDP will be considered at economy score, not their sheer numbers
Sergio Moura : Really liking what we’re seeing here in terms of diplomacy so far. It seems that we’re looking into a real possibility of actually playing the ‘speak softly carry a big stick’ instead of the usual need to declare war either way.
dominik kralj : I wonder if humiliating defeats and heroic victories will have a big impact on how a nation is seen by other nations. For example, if France invades Vietnam but fails to defeat them and instead gets defeated by an army of rice farmers, i think it would be safe to say that France would be made fun of by other great/major nations for failing so hard. Perhaps this could be reflected by other nations trying to take advantage of such an incompitent and weak France by taking colonial land that was claimed by France or perhaps they would try to invade France in order to annex land that they wanted to take from them but were scared to do so before France lost to rice farmers. Perhaps France itself would start to behave differently after such a defeat, perhaps they would focus a lot more on the millitary as a result of that war in order to avoid such a defeat in the future. On the flip side, Vietnam should be viewed a lot more favorably by other great/major powers after they had shown that they were not a push-over. This could result in better deals and relations between Vietnam and other great nations who would be willing to try make a friend who is capable of defeating great nations on their own.
Skycroft1000 : While 1905 and the results of the Russo-Japanese war did shock Europe, I feel like I should note that Japan was by reasonable standards Recognized way earlier. At least a couple of decades earlier, since by then European diplomats were in constant contact with Japan and the UK specifically was courting Japan as a counterweight to Franco-Russian interests in the region, culminating in the Anglo-Japanese alliance in 1902, which note was before the war with Russia, and was the first major alliance the UK entered into in decades (ending their 'splendid isolation' (though both France and the UK stayed out of the subsequent Russo-Japanese war). I don't like the devs referencing that war as the paradigm example of a Unrecognized country becoming Recognized, it suggests a very limited view of Japan and Asian powers in general and their diplomacy with Europe.
Arjan Rijvers : The Dutch royal family comes from Nassau in the German Rhineland. The only link with luxembourg is having been ceded luxembourg after the napoleonic wars and the dutch royal family holding the title to 1 town in luxembourg.
